Laker Hall of Fame: Keel takes yellow brick road back home

Her smiling face is plastered throughout the school’s 1971 yearbook, in photos for various theater productions, sports and musical activities. Kalton’s scholastic achievements include being ranked second in her senior class, serving as secretary for her school’s National Honor Society chapter and being president of her sophomore and junior classes. Kalton arranged classics including “Stairway to Heaven” and “MacArthur Park” for the choir, as well as an ambitious slate of selections from “Pippin.” The group, including Kalton, performed the “Pippin” songs at Expo ’74, the world’s fair in Spokane, Wash., just one of the many touring stops the choir made. Years after Kalton left the group, the Ellis St. Singers continued to perform her arrangements. Learning to juggle all her activities and commitments as a Laker has helped Kalton in her post-Prior Lake ventures. She and Brown have a production company, Chimere Inc., which includes Chalk Hill Books, a publishing arm. Kalton serves as Brown’s business manager, all while being wife and mother. When an earthquake struck the area in 1994 and wreaked $400,000 worth of damage on the family’s home, Kalton relied on her Laker background to survive. Our students are extremely good, smart, intelligent and competent. If they get proper guidance then they can rock the world. They can do better; accelerate innovation by having more challenging Math curriculum to match the exceptional level of intelligence; we need a math program that will increase the expectation of what our young generation can achieve. Recently I have found tutorteddy math curriculum. I have bought it for my daughter; she is in 8th grade. The curriculum is extremely good, cheap and reusable.

Mudcats Sink Mallards in DRS White PLAYOFFS ... - Prior Lake Baseball

The Mudcats beat Mongtomery June 1  5-4 and June 3 3-1 to sweep regular series contests and win the best of 3 series in 2 straight to advance to Region play.  #1 seed St Patrick Irish also closed our Shakopee 12-9 in Game 2 (@ PL Vet) of their series to advance in Regions in 2 straight.

Mudcats advance to Region 3C

            The Prior Lake Mudcats have advanced to Region 3C play with a 4-2 victory over the Montgomery Mallards on Friday night to complete the sweep in DRS White Divisional Playoffs.   The Mudcats will be the White #2 and the Region 3C #6 seed.  The ‘Cats will host the New Market Muskies Friday night at 8:00 PM in Prior Lake. 

            Friday night saw the Mudcats jump out to a 2-0 lead in the second.  Levi Schneider singled.  Ryan Defries reached on an error putting runners at second and third.  Schneider scored on a wild pitch, Defries to third.  Mason Holmquist laid down a bunt for a hit to score Defries on a perfect suicide squeeze. 

            In the fourth inning, Tony Adderley led off with a hit by pitch, stole second, advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt by Levi Schneider and scored on a wild pitch. 

            In the sixth inning, Tony Adderley again led off with a hit by pitch and stole second with one out.  Holmquist walked, Gary Mariscal walked.  Ben Morrison came to the plate and was hit by a pitch on a 3-2 count to score Adderley. 

            Montgomery finally was able to get two runs off starter Jake Schmidt in the bottom of the sixth inning.  Jake was solid through six to pick up the win.  Sean Greywitt pitched the final three innings for the save.  Nick Reed and Tony Adderley had two hits a piece to lead the ‘Cats.
