Alyssa Sheppard has joined Westward Look Resort's catering sales-management team.

Sheppard, a Tucson native and Westward Look food-and-beverage employee for six years, has been named catering sales manager. She is in training to become the resort's wedding specialist.

In her new role, Sheppard primarily serves as a bridal consultant, working with brides, grooms and their families, along with Senior Catering Sales Manager Julie Day, who has been with Westward Look Resort for four years and is a fifth-generation Tucsonan.

The University of Arizona has hired Diana Cannon as director of development for student affairs.

Cannon most recently was executive director of the American Heart Association in Tucson.

Before that she was vice president of business development for Title Guaranty Agency of Arizona. The Tucson Association of Realtors recognized her as 2003 Affiliate of the Year.

Cannon has also held senior positions with US Bank, Wells Fargo and Bank One of Arizona, as well as leadership positions with the American Diabetes Association, El Tour de Tucson and the Tucson Association of Realtors Youth Soccer Shootout.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in interpersonal communications and business from Western Michigan University.

Youth on Their Own has hired retired Air Force Col. Matt Yotter as director of development.

Raised in Los Angeles, Yotter graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College and earned his master's from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He served for 28 1/2 years in the Air Force and has been a Tucson resident on and off for a total of 11 years.

Youth on Their Own supports the high school graduation of homeless and abandoned youths and serves more than 120 schools in Tucson and surrounding areas.

Jonathan Tait, DO, has joined the medical group at Integrative Pain Center of Arizona. Its interdisciplinary, multimodality pain-care centers are at 3945 E. Paradise Falls Drive, Suite 105, and 6567 E. Carondelet Drive, Suite 305.

Tait will focus on pain management and sports medicine. He is an associate research faculty member in the Biomedical Engineering Department the University of Arizona with ongoing research into the evaluation and management of sports-related concussions.

Tait is a board-certified diplomate in sports medicine and in physical medicine and rehabilitation by both the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Osteopathic Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
