What I really like about these outdoor fire pits are the moon and star cutouts. It adds for a great conversation piece to get the evening started… Fire light shines onto objects around your yard sparkling up the conversation…

As I mentioned above, the interesting thing about these copper colored fire pits are the moon and star celestial cutouts. They have other fire pits with different cutout designs, as well. They can add a very cool effect as the light shines through, creating shapes of the moon and stars on the objects around. This fire pit will “spark” up conversations like nothing else!

Most outdoor copper fire pits are made of light gauge steel with a heavier gauge copper bowl, but this fire pit is made with a cold-rolled steel bowl (yes, its steel… couldn’t pass it up though…) and has a “sand” painted finish for heat protection, long life and weather resistance for your outdoor fires.

The handle is isolated about 4 or 5 inches away and wraps completely around and stays cool while in use. This makes it much easier to move and also acts as a safety ring which keeps passersby from accidentally burning themselves.

It comes with a cooking grate for light duty cooking like hot dogs, tinfoil wrapped corn-on-the-cob, barbecued zucchini etc. That’s a plus by any standard. You also get a wire screen to hold down the infamous floating embers when burning wood plus a cool looking fire poker to handle the logs.

Landmann copper colored outdoor  fire pits are great, but I just wish they would have included the lid with this one… They offer it as an option via separate purchase. I imagine they do this to keep the initial price down.

It’s very well made and fits perfectly. It also has a couple of anchor clips to keep it down while not in use, but to be honest, the darn thing fits so good you don’t really need to use them. Just another great benefit of Landmann outdoor fire pits, I guess…

I have a portable charcoal grill that I set into the pit when I want to cook a small amount. When the cooking is done, I dump the charcoal into the pit, add kindling and logs, and POOF! I’m enjoying toasted marshmellows around the “camp fire”.

Landmann suggests adding sand to the bottom of their fire pits. This will help insulate the exterior surface underneath from the heat, and also keep the ash from corroding the bottom of the fire pit. But using sand as suggested, mold could start to grow if the slightest amount of water is introduced. It’s kind of a catch-twenty two, but I would suggest doing whatever you feel would work best for your outdoor conditions.
