Christmas Eve continues, as Joe Gorga opts to leave for Kathy's party. Joe Giudice was saying some pretty sheisty things about him and Melissa, so yeah, they should leave. Teresa disagrees with his decision because, "Kathy is evil, right?" She tries to get Joe to stay, but it just makes things even more uncomfortable. Teresa even tried bringing the kids into it, but it was a no-go (or rather, it was a go-to-Kathy's). The giant gilded doors shut for one last time on the Gorgas. Meanwhile, at Kathy's party, Melissa and Joe are much more comfortable. Melissa hopes they can get that way with the Giudices some day. The Manzos are having a New Year's Eve party at the Brownstone and are debating whether or not to invite Rich and Kathy. Can there be a new beginning with the new year? It's certainly not up to Teresa, and it might not even be up to Caroline. Albie notes that Rich looks like Jeff Goldblum. He sure does, specifically Jeff Goldblum in Jurassic Park . So let's invite him! The Giudices also like to "go big" for Christmas, but this year with their financial situation, they weren't able to go as big as they wanted to. Joe managed to rolls his ass out of bed and move it onto the couch, though, so there's something. I'm not sure whether or not they do Santa there, because Teresa believes in giving credit where credit's due. Teresa got Joe a cross necklace to embed in his chest hair, and Teresa got some gloves and a gaudy coat. No diamonds. Alexa greets the table, and Albie gets nervous. And awkward. Uh oh, it's not going well. Christie Brinkley seemed to think it was, though. Or does she always look like that these days? At least Alexa got the exposure. She's good! Caroline wrapped up the episode like the ending of Modern Family, and it was, overall, a good Christmas that made me wish it wasn't actually July.
